Baseball

The Garfield Heights baseball players bring true meaning to the word, team. In order to be successful any team must utilize teamwork and have a camaraderie with the players and coaches. Our baseball team has just that. Winning over one hundred games since Coach Markiewicz took the program over, the baseball team continues their success into 2006. Jeff Papesh said, “The key to our teams success is team bonding”. The baseball players are a team on and off the field. One baseball player even described them as a, “Family”. “The thing that I like most about playing baseball is how our team bonds on and off the field”, said Matt Milcinovic. This team has something special and it is a tribute to their success. Jason Szabo and other teammates said their most memorable moment was defeating St. Edwards. Szabo credited their victory to team bonding. “Our team bonding pulled us together more as a team instead of a bunch of individuals playing for themselves”. The baseball players have a clear view of teamwork and passion that they will take with tem the rest of their lives.
