Cheerleading A Friday night football game is not a football game at all without the cheerleaders. From locker signs to run-throughs to everyday practices, the Garfield Heights cheerleaders are hard at work all season long. Beginning in early August, the cheerleaders for the fall season begin learning chants, cheers, and dance routines, eagerly anticipating the first football game. During the season, they put together goody bags for the players and spend many hours decorating locker signs. They come to every game with smiles on their faces ready to cheer on the Bulldogs! To most people cheerleaders are the happy, over-excited girls on the sidelines, but in reality, those girls are a group of hard-working, dedicated athletes.
